What are the Benefits of Short-Term Stays?
At Bluegrass Assisted Living, Short-Term Stay programs are provided to give temporary relief for primary caregivers from the continuous support and care of an adult with a memory care diagnosis. Multiple benefits go along with Short-Term Stays including:
Caregivers are given time to rest and recharge. Providing care to a loved one is a full-time job. With the amount of responsibility that comes along with caring for a loved one, primary caregivers can often feel burnt out, resulting in the need for a break. Short-Term Stay programs provided at Bluegrass Assisted Living allow caregivers to take the proper time needed to relax, rest, recover, and recharge.
24/7 nurse oversight and care are provided. When your loved one is a part of our Short-Term Stay program, they are treated like a permanent resident. They are provided with individualized care and services in a home-like environment by our well-trained, professional, and compassionate staff every single day.
Encourages and increases social engagement. Being outside of their regular, day-to-day life, your loved one can interact with other residents daily through activities such as arts and crafts, music, and more!
Builds stronger relationships. Primary caregivers and their loved ones generally spend the majority of their time together. Using a Short-Term Stay and allowing time away from each other can mend stronger relationships between the two. From time to time, changes in our routine are needed to prevent growing tired and becoming bored.
Testing out Assisted Living Communities. Short-Term Stay programs are a great opportunity to get a feel for an assisted living community. While Short-Term Stays are temporary, if for any reason, a loved one needs to make the transition, caregivers can already have the perfect option lined up.
